Suddenly passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital on suffering a severe stroke. Beloved father of Pierre (Kristen) and Danielle (John Hale). Loving “Pappa” to his grandchildren Dalton, Jolie, Michael, Ryan and Tanner, who live in Florida. Dear brother of Virginia. Roger’s warmth and good humour engendered a host of friendships with neighbours and colleagues throughout his sales career with companies like Borden Chemical and Fabricushion, and in Florida, Holiday Rent-A-Car and Devoe Paint. In 1973 his love of cars led him and his business partner, Bill Hyland, to establish Colonial Chev Olds in Newmarket. In retirement, Roger was very happy and fortunate to join the hospitable members of the Newmarket Backyard Railroaders Club and to run his mighty “Big Boy” steam locomotive.
Friends may visit at the TRULL “NORTH TORONTO” FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) on Monday from 12-1 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel at 1pm. Private interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the spring. If desired, in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Sunnybrook Foundation.
