Ruth Isobel Batson

Ruth was born on November 23, 1928 in the beautiful city of Georgetown, Guyana then known as British Guiana. She was the proud daughter of the late Charles and Sylvia Batson.

Loving sister of Evan and Irma now deceased and survived by her baby sister, Joyce.

She was the proud mother of Allan, her pride and joy. Her loving daughter-in-law Donna and the ever loving Granny of Dosan and Clay. Her late nephew Herman, niece Cheryl and their children Janelle, Clint, Trisha, Shandra, Marsden, Christopher, Tia and their children.

Ruth is a proud graduate of The Carnegie School of Home Economics. The only Culinary School in Guyana.

Prior to emigrating to Canada in 1965, Ruth was employed by Booker Brothers, locally known as Bookers.

In Canada, Ruth attended George Brown College and worked at Wellesley Hospital. She then worked for Canada Post until her retirement.

Ruth was a woman who loved to travel.

Ruth was a proud member of the Senior Guyanese Association and contributed to many charities locally and abroad.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, ON M4X1K5. A funeral service will take place in the Chapel on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Reception to follow. A graveside service will occur Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto, ON M4T 2V8.
