Sherman Goeffrey Allison

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Sherman Geoffrey Allison, on March 12th, 2026, just a few weeks after his 90th birthday. Sherman was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maxine Allison (nee Ash). He is survived by his loving children; Philip, Troy, Lisa and Danielle, and his grandchildren; Seymone, Troy, Felicia, Brooklin, Bryanna, Alexander and Julian.

Sherman was born in Newport Station, Hants County, Nova Scotia on Feb. 20th, 1936. He was a man of remarkable character; proud, independent and determined throughout his meaningful life.

Sherman was a kind and gentle soul who found joy in the act of creating wood projects. He took particular pleasure in crafting toys, leaving behind reminders of his talent and care. He had practical foresight, known for keeping many various odds and ends because you "never know when you may need that chunk of wood or piece of wire".

Beyond his hobbies, Sherman was defined by his willingness to help others. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and share his expertise with someone in need - whether it was to help build a deck, a fence, he always stepped up. Above all, he adored his family. His eyes would light up the room when family would visit - especially if he hadn't seen you in a while. He had a heart of gold - always concerned and asking about others, even when his own health was declining.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and those who were fortunate enough to have met him. He was truly adored and held a special place in so many hearts. The world lost a beautiful soul on March 12th.

Tuesday March 24th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m

A second visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25th at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m.

Interment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens - 33 Memory Gardens Ln, North York.
