With heartfelt sadness, we announced the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Shirley in her 99th year in the early morning hours of February 20, 2026 at the sisters of Providence long-term care facility.
She has survived by her son Jeffrey, grandsons Michael, Russell and Colin, great grandmother to Ahitika, Lila and Lucius.
Shirley was predeceased by her late Husband Colin McDonald, parents Harry and Jean Weese (nee Henry), brothers Jack, Donny and Doug and her grandson Jordan.
Shirley traveled throughout the world with her treasured friends in the society of American travel writers, was a long time employee of Sears and the Bay and served in a number of boards at Scarborough General Hospital for over 60 years.
She will be truly missed by the hundreds of people whose lives she touched.
Visitation will take place at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON, M1K2B5, CA, on February 27, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
Burial will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON, M1K 1R1, CA, on February 27, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, and a catered reception will take place at Jerrett Funeral Home following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Women's Auxiliary of Scarborough General Hospital.
