

LINDSAY, Sister Celima, CJ, born Margaret Louise, died peacefully at Presentation Manor, Scarborough, on the 21st day of November 2025, in the ninety-first year of her life and her seventy-second year as a member of the Congregation of Jesus (also known as Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary / Loretto Sisters). She was predeceased by her parents William Lindsay and Margaret Whaling; brothers John (Loretta), Bill (Florence), James (Maureen), Paul (Jewel) and Gerald; sisters Marie (Clay), Elva, Ruth (Lloyd) and Jean. She is survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Throughout her life she remained very close to her family.
Sister Celima taught in schools in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and Hamilton. She served as General Treasurer, and later as Property Manager of Loretto Abbey and Loretto Maryholme. In all her ministry positions she brought a sense of responsibility, a desire for justice, and a care for those less fortunate.
Friends may call at Presentation Manor, 61 Fairfax Crescent, Scarborough, on Wednesday November 26th from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Presentation Manor Chapel on Wednesday November 26th at 10:30 am. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
