Sylvia Fazackerley

Sylvia Fazackerley (née Johnston) passed away on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, of natural causes at Nisbet Lodge – Caring Christian Homes.

Born October 18th, 1932, in Ontario, Sylvia grew up on farmlands until she met her husband, Albert Fazackerley. Their romance blossomed through love letters, and they eventually married and settled in Toronto, ON. Sylvia and Albert had 33 wonderful years together and 3 children before Albert's passing in March 1992.

Sylvia was a God-fearing woman and took pleasure in the simple things life had to offer. She liked to take her time with her cup of coffee at her kitchen table, just enjoying the quiet and the view out her window. She was very devoted to her church, Calvary Church, and never missed a Sunday service. She loved the church choir and participated in it for many years. She also loved playing the organ and socializing with her fellow parishioners. She took pride in doing God’s work and supported many missionaries around the world.

Sylvia is survived by her three children, Robert, Sandra (Dervent) & Deborah (Joe); her grandchildren, Sean, Ashley, Shaniece & Patricia; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel & Ariana, who will miss her deeply.

Though her passing brings great sadness, we find comfort knowing that Sylvia is at peace and is reunited with her husband Albert and her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

A graveside service for Sylvia will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, ON M1K 1R1.
