We are deeply saddened to hear of Theresa's passing.  Our families lived on the same street growing up.  I still remember her as a little girl, always so lovely and very sweet. As we prepare to say goodbye today and lay you to rest tomorrow, I want you to know that I will forever cherish you and the time we shared.

You have left an incredible footprint and a legacy that will live on in all of us. You were loved by so many because your heart was so big. Your kindness, compassion, humility, and strength touched everyone who knew you.

Although we met later in life, it felt as though we had been friends forever. The bond we shared was instant and genuine. Your soccer moms will miss you tremendously.

We watched you battle this awful disease with a courage I have never seen before. You gave it everything you had. You fought for your husband, who never left your side, your children, who were always close to your heart, and your parents, who loved you beyond measure and spoke of you with such pride.

There were moments when I felt defeated for you, but you never did. You would look at me and say, "We've got this. I can do this. Let's go." I would sit and wait for you during your treatments and think, "She is the strongest person I know." Your fight was unlike anything I have ever witnessed.

You leave behind an army of people who love you and who will be here to look after those you cherished most. The outpouring of love and support is a testament to the beautiful person you were and the countless lives you touched.

Thank you for your friendship, your courage, your laughter, and the example you set for all of us. While our hearts are broken, we are better because we knew you.

My angel, I will miss you forever, Comadre. Thank you for your friendship, your love, and the memories we shared. A part of you will always remain with me, and I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life.

There are some people whose presence is so beautiful that even those standing quietly at the edges of their story can feel the warmth of their light.

That was Theresa.

Although I knew her through my friend, Melisa and from the sidelines of her battle, I prayed for her often and carried hope for her deeply.  I lit candles for miracles that I wished with all my heart would have come true.   Like so many others, I wanted more time for her — more mornings with her family, more laughter with friends, more memories for the people who loved her most.

What I keep hearing over and over is who she truly was beneath all of this heartbreak: a loving mother, devoted wife, beautiful friend, treasured sister, and a woman whose presence made people feel safe, seen, and loved. That kind of person does not simply disappear.

Some lights leave this world far too soon, and there is an ache in that which words will never fully explain. But even through that sorrow, one thing remains undeniable: Theresa’s life was extraordinary because of how deeply she loved and how deeply she was loved in return.

May her family find comfort in knowing that her life mattered profoundly, that her spirit reached farther than they may ever realize, and that her love left an imprint on countless hearts - especially mine. 

May she rest peacefully in eternal light.

Theresa, you were a true gem. Your smile could brighten any room you walked into, and your energy brought light even to the darkest moments. You were a genuinely kind and beautiful person, and anyone who knew you was better for it. I am deeply saddened to hear of your passing. You will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
