Vito Grassa

Vito Grassa, age 93, passed away on August 10, 2026. Born March 15, 1933, in Salemi, Sicily, Italy, he carried with him a deep connection to his roots throughout a long life marked by steadfast love and quiet courage. He resided in North York, Ontario.

For 62 years, Vito shared a devoted marriage with Giuseppina, building a family that was both cherished and close-knit. He was the father of Giovanni and his wife Carmela, and Salvatore and his wife Yolanda. He was a proud Nonno to Anthony and his wife Arielle, Vanessa, Massimo, Giuliano, Alessia, and a bis nonno to Leo.

Vito found joy in simple, enduring pleasures—playing his acordian, hunting, and spending time in his garden. In these moments, his steady spirit and brave heart were evident, as was the warmth that made him so beloved to those who knew him best.

A man of faith, Vito was devoted to Padre Pio and San Francesco di Paola. His life will be remembered with respect and gratitude, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
