Wilma Camenting Calderon

With profound sadness and everlasting love, we announce the passing of Wilma Camenting Calderon, who passed away peacefully in the presence of family in Toronto, Canada, on July 25, 2026, at the age of 65, after a courageous battle with metastatic cancer.

Born in the Philippines on March 13, 1961, Wilma lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She moved to Canada in the 1990s where she built her extended life with her family and friends. In 2021, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a battle she courageously fought and overcame. Though the disease later returned and spread throughout her body, she faced every challenge with remarkable strength, grace, and determination, inspiring everyone around her with her courage and unwavering spirit.

Wilma was the beloved wife of Jaime Palomique and the devoted mother of David Palomique, who was the greatest joy and pride of her life. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Crisanto Pigonel Calderon and Wenefreda Sudario Camenting, whose guidance helped shape the woman she became.

Throughout her life, Wilma dedicated herself to caring for others. She began her career as a nurse before continuing her work in healthcare as a Personal Support Worker, providing compassionate care to elderly residents and individuals living with dementia. Her kindness, patience, and gentle nature touched countless lives. Later, she built a successful career in the insurance industry as both a manager and insurance advisor, where she was respected for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to helping others.

Outside of her career, Wilma embraced every opportunity to experience life to its fullest. She had an adventurous spirit and a passion for travel, visiting more than 30 countries throughout her lifetime. Among her favourite destinations was Paris, France, where she and her family made annual trips to visit loved ones and create cherished memories together, as well as the annual road trips across the Canada-USA border to visit the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. She also found happiness in simple adventures, such as road trips to places like Sault Ste. Marie, Blue Mountain, and Niagara Falls which became treasured family traditions filled with laughter and togetherness.

Wilma found joy in gardening, keeping a beautiful home, shopping, spending time with friends and family, and discovering new places both near and far. Although she did not have grandchildren of her own, she was a proud and loving grand-aunt who treasured every opportunity to share her warmth, kindness, and love with her extended family.

Those who knew Wilma will remember her for her selfless heart, gentle soul, unwavering strength, and all the ways she showed her love every single day. She was the kind of person who always put others before herself, offering comfort, encouragement, and unconditional love without expecting anything in return. Her family was the centre of her world, and every sacrifice she made was done out of love.

While her passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely. Her strength, kindness, and beautiful spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends for generations to come.

Visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON, M1K2B5, CA, on July 29, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON, M1K2B5, CA, on July 29, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
