Yew Kooy Roy Quan, born in 1933 in Guangdong, China, recently passed away in his Toronto home. Throughout his life, Roy lived with vision and passion – pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors in the hospitality industry. He was a hardworking individual and also a devoted caregiver for family through many difficult health challenges. Roy is predeceased by his parents Bark Mook Quon and Lem Lou Quon, his wife Yu Siu Yung Quan (1998) and his brother Harry Kooy Quan (2008). He will be missed by his nephews and nieces: Ed Quan (Toronto, ON); Nelson and Julie Quan (Saskatoon, SK); Helen (nee Quan) and Tim Francis (Calgary, AB); Joyce Quan (Saskatoon, SK); Don Quan (Kaohsiung, Taiwan); Eva Quan (Toronto, ON); and Fred Quan (Thunder Bay, ON). Roy is also survived by sister-in-law Suet Ying Quan and her daughter Karin Quan (Calgary, AB).
All are welcome to attend a graveside ceremony to honor Roy at 2:00 pm, Toronto York Cemetery on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
