

Amy was born in Pecatonica, Illinois on August 21, 1920. Her parents were Richard and Bernice Saunders. Her father owned and operated a dairy farm. When Amy was 3, her family moved to Rockford Illinois. Her father continued to operate the dairy farm. Amy had many fond memories of her childhood spending time with her grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. She had a pet goat, Betty, that she loved and many cats over the years. She was raised in the Augustana Lutheran church. When Amy was 16, the founder of the foursquare church, Aimee Semple McPherson, had a tent revival in town. Amy's father, Richard, felt called to become a minister. Their family sold their farm and moved to Los Angeles California. They arrived on January 1, 1936, in Pasadena, just as the Rose Parade was ending. Amy's family eventually settled in San Pedro after attending Life Bible College and her father founded San Pedro Foursquare church. Amy met her husband Kenneth Wade while she was working at Dow Chemical company. She was the secretary of the president of the company. She was married on May 29, 1962. They had 1 daughter. Amy always saw the good in everyone, she was always positive, even after losing her eyesight in 2002. She enjoyed living with her family and spending time with her grandchildren as they grew up. She always had a song in her heart and a fond story to tell. Even in her last days, she was able to smile when she heard her family's familiar voices. She is now at peace with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her 97 years were filled with happiness and joy.
Amy is survived by her daughter Joy Borg, son in law Vincent, granddaughter, Krystal and her husband Javier Santana, and her grandson Anthony.
