Latham, ''Bel'' Belvia Maria a 9 year resident of the South Bay, formerly of Orange County, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2005 in Torrance. Born in Brooklyn, New York on August 20, 1919; Belvia was 85. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Latham of Torrance; daughters, Elizabeth (Mark) Catalanotti of Redondo Beach and Kathi (Michael) Gilbert of Pasadena; son, Skip Latham of Salinas; brother, Byron (Sally) Houghtaling of La Mirada; granddaughter, Kelly Latham of Salinas; grandson, Ryan Latham of Salinas. Also left to mourn her passing are many cousins. Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, March 16 at 9:30 A.M. at American Martyrs Catholic Church, 624 15th Street in Manhattan Beach. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
