Betty Ann Sanchez, age 90, passed away at her home on February 2, 2016. She was the wife of Mr. Dario R. Sanchez. They shared 59 years together in Torrance, CA. Betty was born on May 19, 1925 in Corona, CA to parents Frank and Lillian Burchfield. Betty attended Corona High School and graduated from the University of Redlands in 1948. She then began a career teaching in Big Bear and later at Banning High until retiring to start a family. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, and by her younger brother Frank Burchfield. She is survived by sons Warren (Patti) and Gary (Julie) Sanchez; daughter Sharon Wagner (Karl); and six grandchildren. Betty enjoyed sailing with the King Harbor Yacht Club Lido 14 fleet, climbing mountains in Southern California with the Sierra Club Hundred Peak Section, and skiing, hiking, camping and fishing in the Sierra Nevada.
