Pry, Bonnie June, a 38-year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Torrance. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Bonnie was 82 when she died. Bonnie was an extremely active member and Trustee of First United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach.
Bonnie was not only a loving wife and mother, but she always surrounded herself with civic involvement and scores of friends. She was a member of the South Bay Republican Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the War of 1812, and multiple political action groups. She passionately supported what she believed in (particularly conservative US politics), and she was the truest of friends, which was evidenced by the flood of phone calls, visitors, and cards she received during her recuperation from unexpected surgery. She loved the South Bay and her little dog, Mimi. She also loved to shop--at her passing, Nordstrom's and Talbot's will mourn her loss. She could perform Tai Chi with the best of them, and she loved to walk Mimi near her home every morning to get her "exercise."
She is survived by her Daughter, Karen (Eldon) Ball of Spring, TX; Daughter, Wendy (Tony) Alvarado of Torrance, CA; Sister, Donna (Tom) Broyles of Austin, TX; Sister, Sue (Bob) Eastman of Denver, CO; 5 Grandchildren (2 boys and 3 girls) and 1 Great Granddaughter (6 weeks old). She was preceded in death by her Husband, Wayne L. Pry; Father, George Paper; and Mother, Pearl Paper.
The Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach on Friday, March 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, Colorado. Flowers may be sent to the church, or donations may be made in her name to the church she loved
