
Brad Crawford, a former Eastern Airlines Pilot and longtime South Bay resident, passed away Feb. 4th from a stroke. He was 46. He and his family had resided in San Angelo, Texas for the past 10 years.
He was being treated at the Pain Institute at Little Company of Mary. Under the care of Dr. Rick Chavez, he experienced a near miraculous recovery from the chronic pain that had plagued him for more than a decade.
Brad was scheduled to begin his first day of work as the advertising manager at South Bay Health magazine on the day he passed away.
He was born Jan. 9, 1959 in Pasadena. His family moved to Torrance in the early 1960s. He attended Torrance schools and graduated from Torrance High School in 1977. Brad attended flight school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida and Flight Safety International in Vero Beach, Florida ultimately obtaining his Airline Transport Pilot's license.
Brad is survived by his wife Debbie, children Mandy and Scotty, mother Joan and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His father, Stan Crawford, passed away last March. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8th at McCormick Mortuary, 1998 S. Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach.
