Breda Donegan (nee Finn) passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday April 15. She lived in Rancho Palos Verdes for 49 years, surrounded by her wonderful friends and family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life; Dr. Patrick Donegan (Co. Louth), parents William Finn and Mary Prenderville and her brother Patrick (Co. Limerick). She is survived by her 4 children; Denise Donegan of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Paul (Dana) of Laguna Niguel, CA, Barry (Andrea) of Huntington Beach, CA, James (Terri) of Coto de Caza, CA and her 8 adoring grandchildren; Jillian, Paige, Ryan, Sean, Patrick, Jennifer, Julia and Ciara. Surviving brothers; Maurice (Ireland), Ed (England), Bill (Ireland), Sean (England) Frank (Ireland) and their families. Breda was born in Bruree, Co. Limerick, Ireland. Moving to London in 1945, she received her teaching certificate. She was a governess for many years in England. Luck would have it that Breda and Pat met at a Catholic Social Club in London in 1953. Married in 1954 in London. After Denise was born they decided to make their way to America. They landed in Baltimore and then opportunities arose for them in sunny California. Paul, Barry and James were born and they built their dream home in Del Cerro, Rancho Palos Verdes. Breda was active in her children's lives and involved at St. John Fisher Church. She was a loving and gentle mother; with a quick wit, always smiling and kind. She loved to cook, entertain and travel. Having a great eye for clothing she always looked like she stepped out of a magazine. We were blessed having her as a mother and friend. We will miss her and hold her in our hearts forever. Funeral will be held at St. John Fisher Church Thursday April 19 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Monasterboice, County Louth, Ireland at a future date
