
Brian was born October 5, 1952, in Glendale, California, and was a lifelong resident of Southern California. He worked for many years as a dedicated employee of the Las Flores Convalescent Hospital in Gardena. He loved his family and was always there to help out a friend. Brian was passionate about all areas of science, philosophy and religion, and he enjoyed discussing and debating political issues. His favorite pastimes were reading, following the latest in contemporary science, watching science fiction and horror films, and listening to LA's talk radio.
He is survived by his mother, Lucile Hayes, Lake Forest, California; sisters, Gina Hayes, Long Beach, California and Gloria Hayes Thomas, Mission Viejo, California; brother-in-law, Craig Thomas, Mission Viejo, California; nephew, Blake Thomas, Mission Viejo, California; niece, Alana Hayes, Costa Mesa, California; grand-niece, Kadyn Kemmerer, Costa Mesa, California; cousins, June Carragher Nichols, and Joe and Debbie Nichols, Buena Park, California; aunt, Louise Hayes Strickland, Abilene, Texas and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hayes, Norwalk, California; grandparents, Roy Hayes and Roxie Rose Hayes, Cross Plains, Texas; Charles Harman and Katherine Seil Harman; Superior, Wisconsin.
A Visitation will be held between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2010, at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, California. The Memorial Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Rice Chapel. An open reception will follow from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the Rice Lighthouse Reception Room.
