Burdette Warren Erickson

\\Erickson, Burdette Warren "Eric", a 6 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010 in Torrance. Born in Rock Island, Illinois, Burdette was 90 when he died. Burdette was stationed in England during World War II. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, including tours in Madrid, Spain, the Pentagon, and Systems Command at Andrews Air Force Base, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1970 . He had a second career working for Xerox Corporation in Arlington, VA. During that time he was proud to act as a Loaned Executive to the United Way annual campaign . Eric was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach.

During his retirement, he enjoyed watching sports and took special joy in designing and building a vacation beach house for his family in Fenwick Island, DE.

Burdette is survived by his wife of 68 years, Geraldine Erickson of Torrance, CA; son, Burdette (Kathleen) Erickson of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter, Candace Erickson, M.D. of New York, NY; son, Jim (Patricia) Erickson of Martinsburg, WV; daughter, Judy Erickson of Torrance, CA; four grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Lois Maurais (Bob) of Mount Dora, FL; and Hazel Werner (Roger) of Grand Island, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mabel Erickson.

The Service will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Thursday April 15 at 2pm. A Reception follows in the Parish Hall.
