She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Bryan Ihashi, her youngest brother, Paul Francis Baker, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, her son Kurt Boulware, his wife Marné Jones-Boulware and their son Jason, residents of West Los Angeles.
Dr. Boulware's 45-year psychotherapy practice included being one of the first certified EMDR therapy practitioners and instructors in the world. EMDR is a groundbreaking, internationally applied therapy technique that focuses on relieving trauma and PTSD symptoms by working to "reprogram" the nervous systems.
She served as the Executive Director of the South Bay Therapeutic Clinic during the 1980s and early 1990s, before going into private practice in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and the South Bay area.
