
Cornelia "Coni" Parks, was born at Portsmouth, Ohio on May 26, 1941 and passed away in Torrance at the age of 67 as a result of a long illness with diabetes and liver failure. She died on Sunday, January 24, 2010.
Coni was a resident of Gardena and Torrance for most of her life. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and once owned Coni's Used Bookstore on Gardena Boulevard. She was active in the PTA in Torrance and was a member of the South Bay Lions Club.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom, to whom she was married for 46 years. They met when they were both employed at the Gardena Club. Also, her children Julie Nyguen, Thieu; Randy Boyer; Patrick Parks, Ryan Parks, Saundra; her step-children, Teri Sheedy, Scott; Tom Parks, Jr., Debbie; her granddaughters Jamie Boyer, Lauren Parks and Maxwell Pond and great-granddaughter Aaliyah, great-grandson Jayden, and many nieces and nephews.
She attended Gardena Elementary School and Gardena High School. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in her name.
Graveside services will be held at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Gardena on Friday, January 29 at 11 a.m.
