Daniel Clair Heyman passed away peacefully on December 31. He was 86.
Daniel was born November 13, 1918, in Burns, Kansas. He attended DeGraff Grade School and Burns High School. He then attended Emporia Teacher’s College.
Daniel served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lake Champlain aircraft carrier during World War II.
Daniel moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1939, making his home in Westchester. He was employed by Douglas Aircraft Company for 22 years. He then worked for Hughes Helicopters, retiring in 1984.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jackie; four daughters, Sharon Carter (Don) of Sacramento, Debbie Heyman of Redondo Beach, Beverly Busby (Kirk) of Manhattan Beach, and Janet Heyman of Westchester; three grandchildren, Katie and Matt Carter, and Kirk Busby; and two sisters, Henrietta Heyman of Petaluma, and Barbara Thimm of Wichita, KS.
Memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, at American Martyrs Church, 624 15th St., Manhattan Beach.
