Dolores Grace Ventre

Ventre, Dolores Grace, a 40 year resident of Lomita, last 6 months in Torrance, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Torrance. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Dolores was 80 when she died. Dolores was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lomita.

Dolores attended Santa Monica High School and worked as an L.V.N. and for the Torrance School District as a Teacher's Aide for Special Ed kids. She loved being with her family and friends, and she loved the beach as she grew up in Venice CA. Her hobbies included watching classic movies and getting together with her friends. She also liked to listen to her son Frank's band (drummer). Dolores was a big fan of Dixieland Jazz, and her husband was also a drummer.

She is survived by her sons, Frank Ventre of Torrance, CA; and Gary (Sheryl) Ventre of Torrance, CA; her twin sister Doris Whittingham of NV; brother Larry Bleecker of Santa Monica, CA; grandchildren Joy, Ronnie, Scotty, Sean, Jeff, Jennifer, David, Brooke; eight great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Lester Bleecker; her husband, Walter Ventre; daughter Sharrol Bishop; and brothers Fred, Gene, Amos, and George Bleecker.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

The service will be held at LA National Cemetery's Bob Hope Chapel on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow.
