Dorothy was born in Pomona California. She was a third generation native Californian. She married Doug McCarter in 1953 and moved to Manhattan Beach in 1958. She was an amazing homemaker, school volunteer and a longtime member of the Sandpiper Women's Club. Her home and heart belonged to 4th Street.
She is survived by her daughters Shelley and Leslie; her son Michael, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
A gathering of family and friends is planned for Sunday December 7 at 12:30pm at 316 4th Street, Manhattan Beach.
