Eric's story has been brought forth into the sunshine of the spirit, with all of its incomprehensible beauty. We are all enriched with our memories of Eric. We will watch for you there on the cool breeze with thoughts of you that will forever remain with us.
With a tall frame, magnificent smile, and clever crack-you-up humor, Eric's presence magnified the room when he entered. Knowing Eric, you can't forget the echoes of colorful, intense banter when his sports teams were playing? Those that shared those moments, will understand.
Eric shall be remembered as an engaging, kind young man and a loving Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Cousin. Eric's wonderful presence began on December 8, 1969, in Lemoore, California, at Naval Air Station hospital, and entered into eternal peace on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his home, following a medical emergency.
Eric follows in death, his father, his grandfather, Edward Lewis Simmons, his grandmother, Ruth Irene Simmons, aunts and uncles, and his beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback, Rex.
Eric has brought into this world his beloved daughter, Sarah Ashley, and has encouraged her to continue living the "Good Life", that he so lovingly helped provide for her.
Eric leaves his mother, Judith (Judy) Simmons in mourning his loss, brother, Aaron Dunson, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Dunson, aunts, Karen Simmons, Rita Simmons and Sharon Nelson, uncles, Edward (Eddie), Marlyn Simmons and Howard Nelson, cousins, Brent Simmons, Amanda Tindall, Alissa Lemon, Amy Ylizaturri, and Addie Hutten, nieces, Gizellie and Katelee Dunson, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Eric's life story is written in a groove personified with his love of eclectic music, recorded in it's entirety with clicks and pops. His brother Aaron stated I wouldn't even know the meaning of the “funk” if it was not for Eric.
We travel toward the shadows, stepping into the unknown, obscured through the limitations of the human mind, but spiritually drawn. We love you Eric and will miss you eternally.
