
Passed away September 17, 2008 in Torrance. He was Born in Charles City, Iowa on November 9, 1932. He moved to Torrance, California after serving in the United States Navy as a bomber during the Korean War. He worked with AiRersearch Aviation for over 35 years and Gulfstream Aerospace where he retired from in 1995. After retiring, he taught antique furniture refinishing at Hamilton Adult School in Torrance. He touched many lives and will be remembered as a hard working, dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and teacher. Floyd will be sorely missed by his beloved wife Flo of Torrance; son Kevin (Cande) Shaw of Gardena; daughter Debbie (Mike) Bernat of Torrance; grandchildren Adam and Ryan Shaw of Buena Vista, CO, Alex, Jesse and Tanner Bernat of Torrance and Kirra Shaw of Wyoming; along with brother George Shaw of Gardena and sisters Marjorie (Gar) Van Kleeck of Iowa and Audrey Wilson of Minneapolis, MN.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd. in Torrance. A reception will follow in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room. In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
