Flores, Gilbert Maes, a 47 year resident of South Bay, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011. Born in New Mexico, Gilbert was 66 when he died. Gilbert was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Gilbert loved music and playing the guitar. He was a sports fan who enjoyed watching football, basketball and boxing.
Gilbert is survived by wife, Teresa Flores; daughters, Sylvia Martinez, Peggy Alexander and Michelle Flores; son, Gilbert Flores, Jr.; grandchildren, Tricia, Christopher, Garrett, Steven, Alexandria and Rebecca; great-grandson Max; and brothers, Steven and LeRoy Flores, both of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by parents, Guadalupe and Peggy Flores; and brother, Pete Flores.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm with the Vigil service beginning at 7:00 pm. The Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park.
