NOVEMBER 27, 1919 TO MARCH 30, 2013
Mom was born and raised in Woodbine, New Jersey. Her parents, Nicholas and Genevieve Ciabatoni, immigrated from Italy. Mom worked in the banking industry for 36 years. Her job was her life and her fulfillment. She loved her co-workers and customers, and they loved her. She retired when she was 79, but returned to work at 81. After retiring for good, she volunteered at Torrance Memorial Hospital. She helped in the gift shop, and later in the records department. Mom was their oldest volunteer, ever.
She resided at Ocean Gate Vista, in Redondo Beach, for many years. Her neighbors and friends treated her like family. Their love and caring support allowed her to remain independent until her passing, at 93 years of age. This was her greatest wish.
Mom lost her only son, Nick, two years ago. She missed him terribly. Now they are together at last.
My daughter, Lisa, and I were unable to be here for Mom these last two years, as Lisa's son was battling Ewings Sarcoma. He, also, is with his great grandma now.
We want you to know that when we see an elderly person struggling in the store, or needing a hand crossing the street, we will think of you and how you all were there in our absence. This is truly God's love and you are his grace.
Preceded in death by husband, Billy Lowe; son, Nick Lowe and great-grandson Nicholas A. Lowe. Survived by daughter Barbara; daughter-in-law Sher; grandchildren, Lisa, Gino, Allison and Elise; great grandchildren, Trevor, Cody, Marny, Gino Jr., and Andrew.
