Helen was born in the Bronx, an only child, to Ed & Catherine Smith. She married the love of her life, Jim, in 1953. Together, they pulled up roots and followed his job to a new life in California and a lifelong home for their growing family in Torrance.
Helen worked various jobs, but her favorite job was being a wife and mother. And she did it well. She will always be remembered for her laugh, her sense of humor, her quick wit (even to the end), and her tremendous way of making people feel loved.
Her positive attitude and faith in God guided her life. She will be truly missed by all those she has touched.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Catherine Smith and her husband, Jim.
Her legacy lives on in her four children: Mark, Matthew, Margaret and Michael,
Three daughters-in-law and son-in-law: Tina Cullen, Teresa Cullen, Dan Calnan and Tricia Cullen
7 Grandchildren: Christopher, Ashley, Jennifer, Carley and their spouses (Lindsay, Jeff, Marc and Josh), Jessica, Helen, Jamie and Mikey
And 7 great grandchildren: Addison, Londyn, Liam, Cullen, Rowan, Carlen and Calvin
