Jane Irene Walsh

Walsh, Jane Irene, a 43 year resident of Palos Verdes Estates, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 in Torrance. Born in Johnson City, New York, Jane was 83 when she died. Jane attended the Rolling Hills Covenant Church and the St. Vladamir Ukranian Orthodox Church. She was a graduate of Glendale College, an active member of the Palos Verdes Woman's Club and spent her later years knitting hats for premature babies. Throughout her adult life she supported political candidates and monitored their promises during their terms. Jane is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas. Also survived by sons, Tom of West Los Angeles and David (Masako) of Palos Verdes Estates; a daughter, Patty (Eric) Lundquist of Laguna Niguel and five grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Kevin, Juliette and Billy; a brother, Stephen Melnyk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Olena Melnyk. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 1:45 pm. A memorial service will be held at Rolling Hills Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills Estates on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 am. with a reception to follow.
