
Karen was a member of South Bay Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church for many years.
Karen graduated from Waialua High School in June, 1951. She married Clarence Aoyama on November 1, 1954, where thereafter they resided in Maui.
After moving from Hawaii to Los Angeles and having her three children, Karen joined the work force with a position first as a lab technician. The balance of her career was spent employed by Thrifty Corporation working as a clerk typist in the Human Resources Department.
One of her most favorite things to do was to spend time with her husband and go to the Torrance Senior Center, where they would create ceramic pieces together. Her other greatest passion was to spend time at church and with her many friends she enjoyed there.
She is survived by her Son, Claude (Laurie) Aoyama of Lakewood, CA, Daughter, Pam (Len) Kaplan of Huntington Beach, CA, and Daughter, Ann (David) Payne of Torrance, CA. Preceded in death by Mother, Haruno Ito and Father, Kumakichi Ito.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at McMillan & McCormick Gardena Chapel on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
The Service will be held at McMillan & McCormick Gardena Chapel on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:00 A.M.
A reception will be held in the Gardena Lighthouse Reception Room from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
