Today we are celebrating the Life of … Karen West-Parham who was born November 26, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. She was the tenth child of twelve children born to Lottie Cox. Hervest West was the father of Karen.
She attended Amber Elementary, Stephen White Middle School and graduated from Carson High School.
Karen began her career at Spires Restaurant located on Sepulveda Boulevard and Western Avenue in Torrance, California later transferring to Spires Restaurant located on Hawthorne and Torrance Boulevards in the City of Torrance, California. There she served her loyal customers whom became her friends and extended family whom she loved for over twenty years until her untimely death. She was a phenomenal woman blessed with an immense personality, a caring spirit and a willingness to listen and help a friend in need.
In 1986 while working at the Spires located at Western and Sepulveda she met the love of her life James. The married in 1987. She was his devoted wife and friend whom she lovingly referred to as "Honey." They have two daughters Jamie and Jessica. She was a loving and devoted mother. Karen was very proud of them and their accomplishments.
Karen was also a proud grandmother to Aaliyah Smith whom she affectionately called Le Le. She loved that little girl with all of her heart and soul.
Her favorite color was purple which could be seen all around in her home, her wardrobe and her hair.
Karen was preceded in death by her father Hervest West and two siblings Albert Moore and Elaine Jenkins.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband James; her two children Jamie and Jessica; her granddaughter Aalijah Smith; her mother Lottie West; siblings Helen Sargent (James); Linda Moore; Lewis Moore (Lane); Sharon Payne (Alan); Deborah Moore; Ray Moore; Gary Hamilton; Marilyn Smith; Melvin Smith; her mother-in-law Sharol Lewis (Alexander); Sisters-in-law Lynda Glasgow (Neal); Tami Scott and Chandra Kincaid (Rick); aunts and uncles and a host of nieces, nephews; her Spires boss, co-workers and her beloved customers.
