
Born October 17, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away in the arms of his loving wife Lorna, peacefully at home December 7, 2008 surrounded by family, extended family, neighbors and friends.
Survived by his wife of almost 33 years, Lorna A. (McKay) Williams, daughters, Sue (Williams) Connell of Cypress, CA, Kathy Williams of Laguna Hills, CA. and granddaughter Shannon Connell of San Diego, CA.
Ken grew up as an only child in Pittsburgh, PA with loving parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He entered the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and served his country with love and honor.
His first wife Marie blessed him with two beautiful daughters. Ken worked his way through school while also being employed by North American Rockwell/Boeing. Ken retired from aircraft industry after 16 years and began a new career working as a State Farm Insurance agent, retiring from this career after 25 years.
In January 1976, Ken married the love of his life, Lorna and started a magical journey of love, adventure and complete happiness. They had a rough beginning as both had nothing to bring to the marriage but a lot of love. They managed living in a small apartment in Torrance. They got on their feet and bought a house in Lakewood and life changed to a magically wonderful life, full of hard work with lots of love. Ken traveled to Scotland, Ireland and numerous times to Canada spending time with family and friends. Ken and Lorna managed to take 58 cruises and traveled all over the world. He met many new friends and was loved and cherished by all who knew him.
Ken's extended family includes his brother-in-law, John McKay who was like a true and loving brother to him. Other extended family members are Tiffany, Jeff and the children. Austin (14), Sarah (8), Kailey Grace (22 months) and all of the neighbors on Fairman Street- Mark, Diane, and their children- John and Cheryl, and their children- Richard and Kathy, Craig and Trish, David and Carla, Buck, Gary and Emma.
Ken and Lorna raised Austin for almost 10 years and Austin was the son Ken never had. Austin and the girls adored their Papa and was with him when he passed away. All of his neighbors and those that truly loved him were at his side kissed him goodbye with God speed. Everyone present at his side when he passed away prayed the Lord's Prayer together.
Ken to all of us was a very gentle man and a true gentleman. He was truly one of those angels or saints that walk among us. He is loved and missed by many.
A gathering of family & friends will be held on Friday December 12, 2008 from 5 until 9PM with vigil service at 7PM both at McMillan & McCormick Chapel, Gardena. Funeral Mass Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11AM at St. Maria Goretti Church, Long Beach, CA with committal in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cypress, CA.
