I've had the honor and privilege of getting to know Matt for the last two years not only as a co-worker but as a friend.  Matt and I had what I thought  was a special relationship.  I felt as though he was the little brother I never had.  We had many great conversations together and I learned a lot about the things that were important to him such as his family and friends. Matt could brighten any room, make you laugh until you couldn't breath, and teach you about anything and everything. He was quite gifted, smart, full of life, and a great listener. He would always give his best attempt at everything and had no shame even if he was not the best at it. Matt loved to share and teach and for that I am grateful.    I have many fond memories of Matt and I keep smiling just thinking of them.  Here are a few I'd like to share with you..    ~Matt let me borrow the book American Psycho. For those of you who haven't read it, it  is quite an "interesting" book to say the least. Every day he'd quiz me on how far I was and obviously to make sure that I was reading it. I finally got fed up with him hovering over me about this book so I decided  I would do double time on the weekends to get the reading done so I'd be able to go to work and tell him all about what I had read before he can ask me. The funny thing is that he'd remember all the restaurant and club  names, every  detail in fact,  despite reading the book several years earlier.     ~Matt had a pair of black and white checkered Vans that he'd wear to work. One day I had a bright idea and asked him if I could color in the squares on his shoes. It took me a while to convince him in letting me color just one square, but he gave in and let me color it teal.  Others in the office asked if they can do the same, but he declined. He wore the shoes proudly!!!    ~Matt used to sit across the room from me.  When he'd say one of his smart little comments to me I'd throw paperclips at him and sometimes I'd throw them just to let him know I was there. He accumulated all the paperclips I had thrown and promised he'd blackmail me by telling my Boss when the time was right. He never did, but instead made a necklace that was later inherited by Dizzle our "child" out of wedlock. LOL!!!    ~ Matt and I  shared custody of a stuffed, yellow duck that was left behind in the office from and Easter basket named Dizzle. There were many funny scenarios that came along prior to me getting shared custody.  I gave Dizzle to Matt not knowing that he'd actually agree to keep him on his desk. I'd come in early and kidnap Dizzle and hide him from Matt and he'd fight to get him back. I'd always give in and eventually would give him back, but not without a fight. :) Matt wanted to make Dizzle his own so he added a Chiquita Banana sticker to Dizzle's chest as an emblem and to this day it remains the same. Instead of blackmailing me for the paperclip throwing Matt decided to use the paperclips and make a necklace for Dizzle and make Dizzle look "Gangsta".. as Matt would say. The thrill of throwing the paperclips grew as I knew Dizzle would benefit from it all. Today Dizzle remains on my desk and when I look at him I remember the great times shared with his dad, Matt. I want to attach a picture of Matt and Dizzle together, but can't upload them to this site.    ~Two years ago, after our company Christmas party, Matt and ,I along with a few other  friends, were driving across Western and Journey's Don't stop believing came on the radio. We sang at the top of our lungs and laughed so hard because we were all so very terrible at singing. Every time I hear it on the radio I crack up and  think of the great time we had.     ~One day someone forwarded an email to Matt with a Tiger Woods game on it. Matt thought it would be pretty cool to send it to his Dad along with everyone else in the office. His Dad wrote back and said that he didn't feel it was appropriate to play games on company time. The kicker of the whole email was the way his Dad signed off...... Yo Poppa!!! We couldn't stop laughing and  get it out of heads on how cool his Dad was for signing off that way. Matt was very proud of that.      Matt, I will truly miss you, but I will not forget the memories we shared together. You have touched my life in so many ways and I will cherish that forever.    Your friend always....
