Bro. Melvin English Sr. was my Bro. In Christ and a big Brother in life!  He and his wife Cheryl worked together to support me over the years!

You were always focused on uplifting people and giving service to your church community.  You come from a strong Christian family line; and, your name will always be mentioned with the leaders who help shape the city of Compton into a positive light. Brother English was truly a man after GOD's heart!!! Always ready and willing to teach, and promote the truth! There are many many fond memories to share! not enough time or space of all the earthly accolades he deserves for his great work in the Lord! One memory I can never forget is the dedication he continued to show for my husband who was newly baptized! at that time! to help nuture him! on his new found journey of true Christianity! Bro. Melvin English stood out from the rest. He was a leader and a brave Soldier for Christ. Bro. English was strong in God’s Word and an amazing Teacher making sure God’s word was rightly divided. 

Bro. English was dedicated to helping, meeting and servicing  the needs of others. At Alondra Church of Christ, he was involved with our “Men and Women of Action” Outreach Ministry. 

We have known the English Families for more than forty five years and grateful to God for placing these families in our lives. 

We appreciated the collaboration we had with Bro. Melvin English.  “God created man in His own image…”and  we  believe Bro. Melvin English was a true Man of God.

Continuing in prayer. Melvin was a thoughtful and caring man whose memories we will forever cherish. He brought a smile to each one of us and we are blessed because of him. One of my fondest memories was of him singing Karaoke. What a joy and what love he had for us all. We love you Cheryl. We are praying and we are here.

May God continue to guide and bless your steps. We pray for comfort and wisdom as you celebrate the life of Bro. English. He was always so kind to me and gave me encouraging words. Sending our love from Spring Hill, Tennessee
