1948-2007
Michael Paul D'Amico of Hermosa Beach passed away at the age of 58 on April 25, 2007. He was born and raised in Manhattan Beach. Michael was a graduate of American Martyrs, Mira Costa High School and Cal State University at Long Beach. He served on the Hermosa Beach Police Department during the 1970's before joining the El Camino College Administration of Justice Department as a faculty member. In 1990, he was promoted to Chief of Police for the College.
He was honored and respected by the law enforcement community in which he played many leadership roles, including his involvement in the University Police Chief Association, International Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.
