Minnie Bautista Briones, a loving woman and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on July 21, 1953 in San Pablo, Laguna, Philippines, Minnie dedicated her life to the service of others, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Minnie's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family.
She was the beloved eldest daughter of Prudencio and Anita Briones. Minnie's greatest joy was found in the simple moments spent with her family, whether it was sharing tsismis, video chatting with relatives abroad, playing the slot machines at the casino, tending to the garden, or cheering on a wide range of sports. She was a devoted Laker fan and the #1 cheerleader of Dianne Matias’ tennis career.
Beyond her family, Minnie's spirit of service extended to her community. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Torrance Memorial Medical Center, where she overcame her personal fears of hospitals to provide a warm smile and helping hand to those in need. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she was often behind the scenes helping friends and family. Minnie's legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire generations.
Minnie is survived by her siblings: Heidi Briones Fuller, Ruel Briones, Eileen Avanzado, Nilo Briones, Loida Lozada, and Pamela Alonso Y Woiwode. Minnie was especially cherished by the Relova family and her lifelong high school friends from Laguna College batch of 1969. She is preceded in death by her parents, Prudencio and Anita Briones and her brother Raul Briones.
