Devoted Husband of Bette and loving father to Melanie (Mike), Luke (Sandy), Beau, Ray G. (Sandra). Ray is also
survived by granddaughters, Elke and Cassidy, step grandchildren Joe, Angee, Amanda, Ashley, Tim and Autumn, as well as, step great grandchildren Joe Ray, Kaylyn, and Jonathan, his sister Rachel (John) Koblosh, nephew Dan, Mike and niece, Trudy.
Ray was born in Kansas City, Missouri. His family moved to LA area when he was twelve. He graduated from Hollywood High in 1950.Ray lived his Sr. year in Seaside Oregon, and always made it back for high school reunions, He felt it was his home. After graduation he served four years in the Air Force, serving duty in Korea with the 581st Air Resupply & Communication Air Wing. Ray received the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Defense Medal, Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the Distinguished Unit Citation for Service. Ray left the Air Force with the rank of SSgt.
Ray met his wife of 52 years in Tennessee. They made their home in Redondo Beach for 50 years, where he was active in Mira Costa Little League and Boy Scouts and Y Indian Guides. Ray was employed in the Aerospace Industry, receiving awards for his work on the Apollo 9 space vehicle and retired from Hughes in 1990. He spent his retirement years traveling, golfing and bowling.
He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor, joy of life, and love of family and friends.

Funeral services where held Thursday, August 24, 2006 at White and Day Mortuary in Redondo Beach at 11AM.
A reception was held August 24, 2006, 12PM at the Eagles Lodge In Redondo Beach, where Ray was a longtime member. A good time was had with food drinks and good stories. His family & neighbors, friends from Little League, the Air Force, Aerospace, bowling and golf were all there.
Interment services were held August 25, 2006 at the Riverside National Cemetery.

There was a Military graveside service with full honors, Staging Area 5, To Bunker Bravo.

The Blue Eagles (USAF) honor guard, MSgt Atienza & SSgt Ugorgi Performed the Flag ceremony and presented the Flag to Bette Logan, his wife with grand daughters, Elke & Cassidy by her side.
The US Army performed the 21 gun salute and taps.
March Air Force Base did a 3-jet fly by with one jet veering off alone.
Nephew Dan Koblosh closed with memories and a prayer
