
November 19, 1937 - March 31st, 2010
Went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2010. He died from Multiple Myeloma which he battled courageously for 3 and ½ years. He attended undergraduate school at St. Olaf College, in Northfield Minnesota and received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 1963. He spent a year of internship at Stockton, California, two years in the United States Air Force and three years in an Obstetrical-Gynecology specialty at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Los Angeles and became Board Certified in 1971. He was in private practice at Torrance Memorial Hospital from 1969 to his retirement in 2005 and was Chief of Staff from 1991-1994. He also served on the Board of Trustees and Medical Executive Boards and was on staff at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance. He grew up on a small farm in Minnesota and was very proud of his upbringing. He met his wife, Sherry, while at St Olaf and they married before his first year of medical school in 1959. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last September. He was totally devoted to his wife and family as well as his medical practice and was held in high regard by his peers. For many people he was a faithful friend, loving and caring physician, loyal churchman, and an outstanding Grandpa. He is survived by his wife, Sherry, daughters Sue(Johnny) Synstelien, Kathy (Jeff) Moses and son Craig R Huber M.D. and six grandchildren, Nicholas, Courtney, Shereese, Kaelyn, Samantha and Robbie, brother Dale and siser in law Barbara (Mel) Gerstenfeld and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter in law, Olivia Huber.
A memorial service will be held on April 10th, 2010 at 11 am at First Lutheran Church in Torrance, California, 2900 Carson Street.
Bob loved spending time with his family at Paso Robles as well as driving his pickup truck and listening to country western music. He will be greatly missed, most of all by his family and was the best of the best!
