When I read about it the other day in the Daily Breeze, all I could do was pray for you and your family for strength and comfort. We feel so honored that our son had Steve not only as his coach and someone to look up to his first year of high school. Steve truly inspired Kris to work hard and do well. For that we will always be  truly grateful! Words can not express how much he meant to Kris. We wanted to thank the parents of Steve for raising such a terrific son. He was an inspiration for our own son Josh. Steve was a truly wonderful man who had the heart of an angel.  He always found the best in people and was always there when you needed a friend.  Steve has touched a large number of people in many different ways - I can guarantee he will never go a minute without being thought of, remembered,or missed. My love and prayers go to the Alvarez family in this time of need.

Although I had never met Steven, I read about his terrible accident in the Daily Breeze.  To his family and to his girlfriend, I am so sorry for your loss. I have always told my 3 sons to consider themselves blessed to have a few good friends in life.  Steve was one of those few for my son, Brian.  I have so many fond memories of Steve, Brian and Mark (the three musketeers as we called them). They were always together throughout high school, and I know they still got together whenever they had a chance even though miles separated them. I always will remember Steve\'s smile, his kindness, his humor, and most of all his friendship with my son.  He will be greatly missed. My family\'s thoughts and prayers are with the family, and also Erica and her family at this very difficult time.

My condolences.  I did not know your son, but was readin the orbituaries and it always saddens me when I come across a young person\'s name. I knew Steven my whole life, he was a great friend. I\'ll miss my vacation buddy.

I remember Steven at the Frosh/Soph baseball tryouts when his    brother Jonathan made the team and how excited he was. He told   Jonathan that he would come to all the games. I was so inpressed    with the bond between Steven and Jonathan. He seemed to be   a great older brother. I know he will be missed dearly. My heart    goes out to the family.

Steve was honestly one of the nicest guys I have had the privledge.  We met in high school, but I dont think that I will ever forget him.  His loving, caring nature is what I will miss the most.
