Wilda Ann Smith

On August 21, 2024, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Wilda Ann Smith “Billie”, made the journey to heaven. Billie was 96 years old, born in Morgantown, West Virginia on September 18, 1927. She passed peacefully with all 6 of her children and spouses by her side. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 40 years, Cossie Lee Smith (Deceased 1986), Mother (Ethel Pratt), Father (Garrett Pratt), 2 sisters (Virginia St. Clair and Francis Lindamood) who are celebrating her arrival in heaven.

Billie devoted her life to her children as a stay-at-home Mom. Mom and Dad provided a happy and loving family home in Hawthorne, CA, raising 6 independent children. Billie has also been “Mom Billie” to each of our spouses - who learned from our parents how to live life to the fullest!

• Corey Smith and Spouse Jean– Long Beach, CA

• Gary Smith and Spouse Roselyn- Long Beach, CA

9 Grandchildren:

• Jay, Toby, Ryan, and Derek Vincelette, Kimberlee O’Neal, Kari Hunnicutt and Kyle Smith, Jackie and Tiffany Smith

13 Great Grandchildren

• Ehren, Eleah, Giovanni, Ava, Autumn and Matthew Vincelette, Kohle O’Neal, Kendall, Kallen, Kora, and Griffin Hunnicutt, Payton and Landon Smith.

Billie devoted her life to family and modeled unconditional love, kindness, caring, service and selfless actions everyday for all who knew her. She was known for her great cooking, baking and loved camping in Sequoia and her water aerobics classes. Billie was born in West Virginia, and lived in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hawthorne, San Pedro, Rosamond, and Long Beach, California. Billie had a kind heart and was always happy and never complained. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Our Family will have a Family Viewing and Family Burial Ceremony on September 17th. Flowers can be delivered on September 17th between the hours of 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM to the Lighthouse location below:

Celebration of Life for friends and family will be at Jill and Barry Smith’s Garage on September 18th at 3:00 PM. Casual/Comfortable Dress – shorts encouraged.
