
HENRY, Arlene (Pero), 88, of Interlochen went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. She was born on October 6, 1922 in Flint to Frank and Ervilla (Fisk) Pero. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1940. Her first job was as an office clerk for Clarence H. Moen Sales and Engineering. She retired as Office Manager after 40 years with Moen Sales and Engineering. She attended Office Management and Secretarial Skills classes at GMI. In 1946 she met a handsome WWII veteran named Ray Henry and they were married a year later on May 30, 1947. In 1955 Ray and Arlene moved to Flushing where they raised four beautiful children. Upon Ray's retirement from AC Spark Plug, they moved to Interlochen in 1978. Arlene was active in Flint Junior Sorosis until she and Ray moved to Flushing. She was also a past member and board member of Cross Congregational Church in Flint; a Girl Scout Leader; a Cub Scout Den Mother; Past President, Treasurer, and Executive Director of the Golden Fellowship in Interlochen; a member of the Interlochen Library Board; a member of the Women's Club in Interlochen; and a member and board member at Honor Congregational Church in Honor. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Janyce (Albert) Selesky of Coleman, Pamela (Harvey) Workman of Flushing, Robert (Deborah) Henry of Grand Blanc, and Roger (Cheryl) Henry of Montrose; seven grandchildren: Bradley Selesky, Katherine Selesky, Nichole (Rick) Smith McDaniel, Sarah (Tim) Smith Wasilk, Joshua Smith, Jonathan Henry, and Rachel Henry; four great grandchildren: Smith Wasilk, Alivia McDaniel, Ava Wasilk, and Jackson McDaniel; her brother Donald (Nancy) Pero; as well as several nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Ray and her parents. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Reigal Funeral Home - Sunset Chapel, 5501 West Pierson Rd., Flushing MI, with a visitation 1 hour prior.
