Carole J Beck

Carole Jeane Beck, was born November 24, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, and was returned to her creator on June 17, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia Eppard of Toledo, Ohio; by her husband, Leroy Beck; by her sister, Patti Kasper; and her brother, David Eppard. She is survived by her son, Michael C. Beck; and daughter-in-law, Sandra J. Beck; daughter, Michelle L. Christensen; and son-in-law, Greg G. Christensen; daughter, Melissa A. Beck; by her sisters, Mikki Breese and Diane Hess; her brother, Robin Eppard; and sister-in-law, Becky Eppard; as well as by 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Carole graduated from Sylvania Burnham High School in 1952, and attended Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, from 1952 to 1953. After marrying her husband of 62 years, she began her lifelong journey with Leroy, as he started his career in the Lutheran ministry. Together they served 10 congregations from 1959 through 1996. These congregations included St. Paul's, Danbury, OH, and St. Matthew's, Marblehead, OH; Immanuel Lutheran, Ida, MI, and St. Matthew's, Raisinville, MI; Trinity Lutheran, Rocky Point, Long Island, NY; a mission congregation in Sterling Heights, MI; St. Paul Lutheran in Toledo, OH; Immanuel Lutheran in Grand Ledge, MI; a mission congregation in Biloxi, MS; and Hope Lutheran in Port Charlotte, FL.

Carole was the sweetest, kindest, and most patient person one could know, she loved being a minister's wife, and was a soul-mate and help-mate to her husband's ministry. She loved her children and family as much as anyone could. She had the capacity to be one of the funniest women ever known (even when she didn't know she was being funny). She and her sisters could talk and laugh together for hours; having fun was an essential part of her character.

A private memorial service celebrating Carole's life was held.

In lieu of flowers, donations were made in Carole's name to Hospice of Michigan, 10580 East Traverse Hwy. #1155, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684.
