Doris Elizabeth Peck was born April 27, 1926 in Dyersburg, TN to Lilly (Butler) and Zebedee Grizzle; and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, October 8, 2020. While in Florida, she worked for a time sectioning grapefruit, and enjoying fishing in her spare time. She married Melvin Rogers in 1942 and had one child, John Rogers. Melvin died in 1981. She married Emmanuel Hamm in 1994 until he died in 1995. On March 23, 2003 in Lorida, Florida, she married Duard (Dewey) Peck, a lifetime resident of the Traverse City, MI area who she met while he was spending his winter in Florida. After being married, the couple divided their time living in Michigan in the summer, and Florida in the winter. They moved full time back to Traverse City in 2014.
All of these preceded her in death. She is survived by several nieces, one sister, daughter in law Theresa Rogers, and her extended family of the memory care staff of French Manor Assisted Living where she lived for the past five years. Also surviving are Duard's four children: Brenda Sheldon of Avon Park, FL; Jene (Ron) Wright Ahlquist of Grand Haven, MI; Penny (Jim) Liesmaki Papka of Watertown, SD; and Mark (Kim) Peck of Lansing, MI.
