

Frances was born in Cedar on May 30, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Frances (Flees) Tafelski. She was a resident of the Grand Traverse area since 1972. Frances was a 4H leader in sewing, and news correspondent for all local newspapers for many years, a 30 year auxiliary member of the Little Finger VFW Post 7731 of Lake Leelanau and past president of the Hillview Terrace Association. Frances was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and their Alter Society. She enjoyed her family and doing crafts and Bingo. She also excelled in quilt making.
Frances is survived by her two sisters, Rosemary Vrabel of Burbanks, CA and Theresa Wilson of Harrison Twp, MI; daughter, Dorothy Jean (Donald) Rosinski of Traverse City; two sons, Robert Dezelski of Cedar and John Arthur (Dede) Dezelski of Northville; daughter-in-law, Laura Lee Dezelski-Winkler of Bradenton, FL; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Frances in death are her parents, Henry and Frances Tafelski; brothers, Edward in infancy and Andrew; sisters, Irene Creager and Sue Knipe; son, David Dezelski; and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Dezelski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Sept 7, 2011 at 11 am at St. Francis Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm with at Vigil for the Deceased at 7:30 pm at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Isadore at 1:30 on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
