Harlan W. Boone, age 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, formerly of Hicksville, Ohio, and Kingsley, passed away May 15, 2017. He was born May 12, 1941 in Lansing to Kenneth W. Boone and Jennie (Chupp) Bisard Russell.
Harlan enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Landshut, Germany, where he met his wife, Angelika Anft. The two were married there in 1966.
Harlan was a truck driver, but in his spare time he enjoyed camping and tinkering around in his garage. Harlan was a warm-hearted man with an ornery exterior, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him will deeply miss his sparkling bright blue eyes, kind heart and playful soul.
He is survived by his wife, Angelika Boone; daughters, Kelli Comparet and Jacqueline (Mario) Boone Morales; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Harlan was preceded in death by his daughter, Kerri Boone.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., at Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley. A military honors graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley.
