

Jon Avon Howe 69, of Traverse City died on November 15, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Detroit on November 6, 1941 the son of Orrin W. and Gladys A. (Eastcott) Howe. Jon was a computer programmer analyst and he was the family information hotline before “Google”. He was a Lutheran by faith and a member of the sons of Norway. Jon enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing cards, telling jokes and was a master of trivia. He truly loved and was very proud of his family and grandchildren. Jon was a confidant and a great person to talk to. He is survived by his children; Kevin (Stacy) Howe of Interlochen, Karen (Behzad) Howe-Behrooz of Union City CA, and Kim (Paula Walters) Howe of Freeland, four grandchildren; Kelly and Macey Howe and Ramin and Arjan Behrooz, his brother Hadley Howe, his sister Cathy Wilson, and the mother of his children Eve Howe, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda G. Maguire (twin sister of Cathy Wilson) and his step-mother Mildred (DeBolt) Howe. A celebration of Jon’s life will be held on Friday November 19, 2010 at 3pm at Bay Pointe Community Church, 6880 Secor Road, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jon’s name to the Salvation Army, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home, Traverse City.
