

Raymond Salisbury Sr., age 82 of Maple City, Mi, completed his journey in life peacefully on December 19, 2014. Preceded in death by parents Bert and Mary Salisbury, in-laws Kenneth & Ella Watson, brothers; James, Gerald, Kenneth and Albert , sisters; Edna Trumbull and Ada Sage, and granddaughter; Keri Lynn Schopieray. Survived by a loving family, including wife of 62 years; Barbara (nee: Watson), son; Raymond (Laura), daughters; Debra (Harry) Schopieray, Dawn (Larry) Thoreson and Karen (William) Grifford Jr., brother; Donald Salisbury, 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren with one more arriving on January 9th. Also survived by good friend; Jim DeMoulpied. Ray proudly served in the US Navy. Retired from Wepking Construction. Ray was a member and past president of the Maple City-Cedar Lions Club and had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing and woodworking. Among Ray’s biggest joys was time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the dedicated team at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for their tender care during Ray’s illness. Visitation will be held on January 3, 2014; 10:00am until the time of memorial service at Noon at Covell Funeral Home, Traverse City. Burial following at Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions made to Hospice of Michigan and the Salvation Army are appreciated.
