Stella and her late husband Steve were long time and wonderful friends of our parents, Irene and Stanley Walters of Cedar. They shared many good times together including bingo and doing the polka at various weddings, anniversaries, other celebrations. Steve Berak and our dad loved to hunt and fish. I last saw Stella at my mom's funeral in early September of last year, as Ginger and Stella came out to Holy Rosary for the funeral mass, and we all marveled that Stella had out-lived them all! Stella was a sweet, kind, and generous woman who is surely communing with the angels now. May she rest in peace.

Lillian  Berak  told me about your Mom's  passing.   I visited with your Mom and Dad many times when I was Missioned at St. Francis  almost 20 years ago. I am Sister John Marie Charniga, O.P.  I also visited  when Sisters  Virginia, Helen Collette, and Jerome would drive up from Oxford Motherhouse. Your  Dad would play the accordian and we all sang   and had many happy memories.

Dear Ginger, Lorraine & Patty & Family, It was with great pleasure that I was able to know your Mom thru the Daughters of Isabella, St. Rose of Lima Circle.  Stella
was a great role model to us as members making rosaries and doing charitable works for the less fortunate.  Stella will be greatly remembered for her guidance in making rosaries for hospitals and for women and men in the armed forces.  May God Be With you all in your time of mourning. Stella was a very special  we always sat in the back pew at St. Francis Church, in Traverse CIty over 25 years now.we made friends and would always get a Christmas card  from her over the years. My sister NancyAnne Baynton who lives in Traverse City was always friends with her at church too. We have  been to her special house on the river filled with plants and her home made things....she was so special. May she rest in peace. I know she was a friend  of my mother's too...Marie Baynton. She was just so friendly and always smiling and a hug and hello. God Bless her.

Dear Berak Family.....The best time with my Aunt Stella was when visiting family in Michigan two years ago.  Her sweet smile and warm hugs really meant so much to me.
