Charles E. Philo

Charles Earl Philo Jr, age 79, of Clarkston, GA was welcomed into his Lord and Savior’s arms on Saturday, January 15, 2022. Born October 29, 1942 in Bowling Green, OH, he attended college at Toccoa Falls Bible College in Toccoa, GA, where he met his wife of 58 years - Carolyn Davis Philo, of Avondale Estates, GA. They attended and were married at Avondale Alliance Church, Avondale, GA, and also attended Rehoboth Baptist Church, Tucker, GA. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railway until his early retirement in 1999. He worked hard as a provider for the family so that Carolyn was able to be a stay-at-home mom for their children. Charles loved watching NFL football and was an avid reader. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Earl Philo Sr. and Lydia Philo. Charles leaves a legacy of love in his family. He is survived by wife Carolyn Davis Philo, Clarkston, GA; 3 children: Kristi (David) King, Flowery Branch, GA, Tony (Becky) Philo, Roswell, GA, Melanie Philo, Clarkston, GA; 8 grandchildren: Courtney (Daniel) Paz, Autumn Philo, Allen Bracewell, Carson (Brian) Viole, Joel Bracewell, Cassidy Philo, Charis Philo, Jenna King; 6 great-grandchildren: Chrissa, Elena, Rosalia, & Ariella Paz, and Julian & Dominik Viole; brother-in-law Giles (Sandy) Davis, Braselton GA; niece Kelly (Jon) Pittman and their children Harper, Reese, and Hunter. Services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens on Lawrenceville Hwy. in Tucker, GA. A visitation will be held Saturday at the Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a graveside service.
