She is survived by her daughter Tanya Nicole McDaniel of Lawrenceville, GA., and her step-children, Mark Steves (Stacey) of Washington D.C., Lisa Steves (Dena) of Charlotte, NC., David Steves (Ivonne) of Braselton, GA., and Angela Perry (Greg) of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by two of her three brothers, Carl Bruce McDaniel and Gene McDaniel of Loganville, GA. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Severo Steves of Marietta, GA and her brother Jacob Ray McDaniel of Panama City, FL. Additionally, Marie is survived by her grandson Jordan McDaniel and his wife Emily and her two great grandchildren Jayce and Stryker McDaniel of Lawrenceville, GA and step-grandchildren Daniel Perry, Olivia Perry, Noah Perry, Adam Steves, Michael Steves and Madeline Steves.
Marie was born on July 26th and Jones Glancey Hospital, to Harold and Inez McDaniel. She was educated as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia and worked for Dekalb General Hospital for more than 20 years. Later, she worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Columbus, Georgia.
Marie was a loving woman who enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and friends. She enjoyed gardening and was known to share her beautiful gladiolas with her neighbors. Prior to COVID, she volunteered at her local church.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31st, 2023 at Floral Hills Funeral Home with a reception to follow.
